Athens 2021. A lovely little Airbnb apartment in Athens. Yellow walls. It immediately felt familiar when I entered. A couple of days went quite normally - I was then making websites for an organization working with refugees. Then I started to 'dodge the dog' who was lying on the floor next to the bed. I didn't have a dog. I dodged the dog every time I walked in a certain part of the apartment.
Then I had a dream where the ceiling of the bathroom was almost a meter higher than in reality. In Greece, room height is higher than in Finland. I checked in the morning and indeed, the ceiling had probably been lowered during the renovation.
In my dream there was a lamp hanging from the ceiling and old gray walls. At the moment apartment has new mirror cabinets with lamps coming from the wall. Ceiling is much lower. I dodged the dog for several days. This is the only time in my life when I haven't been quite sure of my surroundings. Sometimes it felt like I was 'here' and sometimes 'here is somewhere else'.
